Former Cardinals coach Bruce Arians joining CBS NFL broadcast team

Bruce Arians retired as head coach of the Cardinals after the season without a clear plan for what he was going to do.

Cowboys receiver Terrance Williams was arrested for public intoxication and leaving the scene of an accident. Williams has now supplied his side of the story that, as told by the authorities, involved Williams allegedly wrecking his Lamborghini into a light pole.

Williams will face league scrutiny under the substance-abuse policy for the alcohol-related arrest. He’ll need to achieve full vindication in order to avoid placement in the drug-testing program or any type of discipline.

Toughest tests: The road schedule is brutal. Tennessee, Kansas City, Atlanta and Carolina all made the playoffs last year. Baltimore lost four road games last season, and that included a 44-7 loss at Jacksonville. Joe Flacco’s home-and-road splits were almost identical last season, but he will need to be better if they want to go .500 in these games.

Biggest breaks: Pittsburgh, New Orleans and Buffalo are the only teams coming to M&T Bank Stadium that had winning records last season. The game against the Bills should be interesting given last year’s AFC wild-card race. The Ravens faced three AFC North opponents in the first four weeks last year but didn’t take advantage of winning two of those three games.

Blues’ arena changing name to Enterprise Center

The NHL team on Monday announced a 15-year arena naming rights agreement with suburban St. Louis-based Enterprise Holdings, which operates Enterprise Rent-A-Car, Alamo Rent a Car and National Car Rental. Terms were not disclosed.

The arena has been known as the Scottrade Center since 2006. The name change is effective July 1.

More details have emerged about the domestic violence complaint against 49ers linebacker Reuben Foster, including a previously unreported allegation that he threw his ex-girlfriend鈥檚 dog across a room.

However, prosecutors did not drop the charges after Ennis recanted, and there are other witnesses, including a driver Ennis flagged down who allowed Ennis to use her phone to call 911, and a friend Ennis called from that driver鈥檚 phone. Police also say that Foster admitted he broke phones belonging to Ennis on two separate occasions.

And even if Foster can鈥檛 be convicted of the domestic violence charge because Ennis recanted her claim, when police responded to the scene they found a Sig Sauer short-barreled rifle on the floor of the bathroom with a loaded 30-round magazine and a round in the chamber. So the case against Foster goes beyond just the word of one accuser.

Foster has a court date Tuesday morning in connection with the case.
