The Pelicans got hot late in the first quarter and never looked back, immediately jumping out to an enormous lead. A 27-12 second quarter all but sealed the game for New Orleans, which led by as much as 25 points en route to a commanding win.

Blueitt’s impressive scoring total came in just 19 minutes of play off the bench. New Orleans also saw big production from center Cheick Diallo, who scored 13 points and turned in a team-high 10 rebounds. Second-year guard Frank Jackson turned his ankle and left the game but not before adding 13 points of his own.

If their names are familiar to U.S. basketball aficionados, it’s for good reason.

Ayon appeared in 135 NBA games in parts of three seasons with four different franchises, and just helped Spanish powerhouse Real Madrid win the EuroLeague. Mendez-Valdez was part of the Western Kentucky team that went to the Sweet Sixteen in 2008, and he won the Sun Belt’s player of the year award in the following season. Cruz played at Wyoming and has played in pro leagues in Mexico, Latvia, Argentina and Spain.

In other awards, Ben Simmons of the Philadelphia 76ers won Rookie of the Year.

The guard averaged 15 points, eight rebounds and eight assists, joining Hall of Famer Oscar Robertson as the only rookies to post those numbers in a season.

Simmons helped Philadelphia to a 52-30 record, including ending the season with a 16-game winning streak.

Jake Bauers (L), 18 percent, Tampa Bay Rays at Miami Marlins (RHP Elieser Hernandez): Lost in the outstanding pitching the Rays have been receiving of late is the fact that Bauers has been an on-base machine since being called up from the minors in early June. Bauers has registered an impressive .409 OBP, Esa Lindell Authentic Jersey which is most useful in points leagues, where his 19 percent walk rate is a latent source of points. Look for Bauers to continue to get on base facing Hernandez and his bloated 1.54 WHIP.

Jose Peraza (R), 47 percent, Cincinnati Reds vs. Chicago White Sox (RHP James Shields): After a slow start, Peraza is finally rewarding league managers Pavol Demitra Jersey with some solid production. He has slashed .327/.378/.455 with six swipes over the past month. Peraza even muscled up for a pair of homers this past week. On Monday, he’s a dual threat as, not only is Shields homer-prone, but he and the White Sox don’t control the running game very well.
